Terms of Service

1. The service

GradFetch provides tools for US graduate school applications: a program and faculty database, a statement of purpose studio, an application tracker, and related planning resources. Program data is compiled from official university sources; see Section 5 on accuracy.

2. Accounts

You create an account with your email address and a password (minimum 8 characters). After signup we email you a verification link; clicking it confirms you control that address. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your GradFetch account. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. One account per person; do not share your password.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or data, or probe the service for vulnerabilities except through responsible disclosure to support@gradfetch.com.
• Scrape, bulk-download, or resell the program database or faculty directory as a competing product. Personal, academic, and advising use is fine.
• Submit false, misleading, or infringing content.
• Interfere with or disrupt the service, including circumventing rate limits.

4. Your content

Your application materials (SOP drafts, notes, tracker entries) remain yours. By using the service you grant GradFetch a limited license to host, process, and display that content solely to operate the service for you (for example, autosaving drafts and generating your document exports). We do not use your SOP drafts to train models or share them with third parties. Our SOP studio is designed to support your genuine authorship; you are responsible for the originality and honesty of everything you submit to universities.

5. Data accuracy disclaimer

Deadlines, fees, requirements, and program details change every admissions cycle. While we source data from official university pages and mark unknown values as unknown rather than guessing, GradFetch does not guarantee that any deadline, fee, or requirement is current. Always confirm critical details on the university's official program page before applying. GradFetch is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any university.

6. Intellectual property

The GradFetch site, branding, and software are owned by GradFetch and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. The program database is a curated compilation; personal and academic use is permitted, but systematic extraction for republication or resale is not (see Section 3).

7. Third-party links and services

GradFetch links to university websites and other third-party resources. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or privacy practices.

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from the Account panel inside the app, which permanently removes your account data and terminates these terms for future use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or abuse the service. On termination, your right to use the service ends; Sections 5, 6, 9, 10, and 11 survive.

9. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any application outcome will result from its use.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GradFetch will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or application opportunities, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (currently the service's paid tier does not exist, so this amount is zero for free users). Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including EU consumer protections where they apply.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold GradFetch harmless from claims arising from your misuse of the service or violation of these terms.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Mississippi, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Mississippi, unless applicable consumer protection law in your jurisdiction (including EU/UK consumer rights) gives you the right to bring proceedings locally, which is preserved.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
